Cold Nose Col­lege is a 3,500-square-feet dog train­ing & edu­ca­tion cen­ter in Mur­phy, North Car­olina. We are the only facil­ity of our kind within a hun­dred miles—offering you and your dog mul­ti­ple ser­vices under one roof amid the forests and mead­ows of the Blue Ridge Moun­tains. All of our train­ers main­tain their cer­ti­fi­ca­tions through con­tin­u­ing edu­ca­tion. We never stop learning.

About Lisa Lyle Wag­goner, CPDT-KA, PMCT-2

Lisa Lyle Wag­goner is a Cer­ti­fied Pro­fes­sional Dog Trainer, a Pat Miller Cer­ti­fied Trainer-Level 2, a dog∗tec Cer­ti­fied Dog Walker/Instructor, and a pro­fes­sional mem­ber of the Asso­ci­a­tion of Pet Dog Train­ers (APDT).

Lisa has many years of expe­ri­ence train­ing dogs of all types and ages. A pas­sion­ate advo­cate for humane, science-based dog train­ing, Lisa has stud­ied ani­mal behav­ior and the lat­est train­ing tech­niques through­out her career with dogs—and she devotes a min­i­mum of 40 hours a year to con­tin­u­ing edu­ca­tion. She has attended numer­ous work­shops and sem­i­nars with lead­ers in the train­ing and behav­ior field, for exam­ple Karen Pryor, Ian Dun­bar, Patri­cia McConnell, Jesus Rosales-Ruiz, Pia Sil­vani, Karen Lon­don, Suzanne Cloth­ier, and Ken Ramirez.

Lisa writes expert arti­cles on dog train­ing, is a colum­nist for the Chero­kee Scout, a reviewer of dog train­ing books and DVDs for The APDT Chron­i­cle of the Dog, and a reg­u­lar con­trib­u­tor to the newslet­ter of the Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion Coun­cil for Pro­fes­sional Dog Train­ers. She is also a fre­quent pub­lic speaker on humane edu­ca­tion and other dog-related topics.

About Brad Wag­goner, CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP

Brad Wag­goner is a Cer­ti­fied Pro­fes­sional Dog Trainer, a grad­u­ate of Karen Pryor Acad­emy of Ani­mal Train­ing & Behav­ior (KPA) and a KPA Cer­ti­fied Train­ing Part­ner (CTP), a dog∗tec Cer­ti­fied Dog Walker/Instructor, and a pro­fes­sional mem­ber of the Asso­ci­a­tion of Pet Dog Train­ers (APDT). Brad is also a Pet Tech inc. pet First Aid and CPR instructor.

A vet­eran of pro­fes­sional dog train­ing, Brad was awarded the pres­ti­gious B.F. Skin­ner schol­ar­ship to attend Karen Pryor Acad­emy. Dur­ing his intern­ship at Peace­able Paws, he received top hon­ors in the prac­ti­cal exam, demon­strat­ing his abil­ity to use pos­i­tive rein­force­ment train­ing to get great results with dogs.

Brad keeps his knowl­edge and skills finely honed through classes, sem­i­nars, and work­shops with such dog-training lumi­nar­ies as Ian Dun­bar, Kay Lau­rence, Patri­cia McConnell, Pat Miller, Kathy Sdao, Pia Sil­vani, Suzanne Cloth­ier, and Ken Ramirez.

When he isn’t busy solv­ing dog prob­lems for his clients, he vol­un­teers with local schools, help­ing stu­dents learn about pos­i­tive reinforcement-based train­ing, pet safety, and dog-bite prevention.

About Tiffany Lovell, A.A.S., Ani­mal Assisted Interactions

After suc­cess­fully com­plet­ing a year-long appren­tice pro­gram at Cold Nose Col­lege, Tiffany Lovell joined as a Trainer and excels in both her dog train­ing skills and her cus­tomer ser­vice skills.  Tiffany recently became the first grad­u­ate of Tri-County Com­mu­nity College’s Ani­mal Assisted Inter­ac­tions pro­gram.  This degree pro­vides her with exten­sive knowl­edge in the Ani­mal Ther­apy field as well as the abil­ity to cre­ate Ani­mal Assisted Activ­i­ties within the com­mu­nity.  Tiffany was also the top scor­ing grad­u­ate of the Pat Miller Peace­able Paws Level 1 Intern Acad­emy.  She is also a mem­ber of the Asso­ci­a­tion of Pet Dog Train­ers (APDT) and is work­ing on gain­ing the hours needed to sit for the CPDT Exam.

Prior to becom­ing a full-time pro­fes­sional dog trainer, Tiffany worked as a vet­eri­nar­ian assis­tant for over three years where she gained a wealth of expe­ri­ence han­dling dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages.  She also vol­un­teers her time with many ani­mal res­cue orga­ni­za­tions through­out the tri-state area.  Tiffany has attended many sem­i­nars and work­shops to learn from lead­ers in the train­ing and behav­ior field such as Karen Pryor, Pat Miller, Kathy Sdao, Jesus Rosales-Ruiz, and Ken Ramirez.
