About Us
Our goal is to help your dog become a well-behaved companion and family member through the use of dog-friendly, positive training methods.
Training dogs (and their people!) is a passion for us. Recent research has shown that good manners training may be the single most common factor that is most likely to keep a dog in its home for his/her entire life, rather than joining the millions of homeless animals who end up in shelters every year. What a wonderful reward it is for us to see a happy human and a happy dog in a forever home.
Using only positive training methods, we hold small Group Classes, offer Private In-home Training, Behavior Modification for problem behaviors as well as dog/dog reactivity and dog/human reactivity and aggression and Agility for Fun classes.
All living creatures repeat behaviors that are rewarded….so we want to make sure we’re rewarding the right ones! One of the best things about reward-based training is that it helps a dog learn to make intelligent choices and creates a strong bond built on respect and trust between the handler and the dog.
It’s also important to us to help our clients understand how dogs think and learn so that they, too, will be able to solve training challenges once they’re no longer in class.
Above all, we want the training experience to be fun and successful for both you and your dog!

Meet Our Trainers
Lisa Lyle Waggoner, CPDT-KA, PMCT (Founder)
After experiencing the wonderful results of reward based training while taking classes with her own dogs, Lisa decided to help others learn to use positive reinforcement to train their canine companions. She launched into an extensive course of study about how dogs learn and the science of behavior, enrolling in instructor training and graduating top in her class in the Level I Peaceable Paws Basic Training & Behavior Intern Academy, as well as the Level II Peaceable Paws Instructor’s Course. Lisa continues to enjoy learning and spends a minimum of 40 hours a year in additional continuing education.
Lisa has a passion for teaching and helping others learn. Her students continually tell her that she’s “definitely in the right occupation” as it’s apparent that she derives great joy from her work with her students and their canine kids.
