What a fun Saturday we had! Cold Nose College was a Bronze Level Sponsor for The Mountain Song Stage which was part of the 8th Annual Murphy Heritage Walk and Festival.
In addition to our sponsorship, Brad and I also have responsibility for organizing the music stage which has traditional Old Time and Bluegrass music from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The crowds were steady and listeners were treated to the talents of Bear Notes, Barefoot Creek, Smoky Mountain Melodies, Polecat Creek, Keltic Kudzu and The Buzzard Mountain Boys.
The festival is held on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and this year’s venue was Konehete Park, our beautiful park which has a fabulous path by the Valley River (known as The River Walk). The festival celebrates the history, artistry and craftsmanship of Cherokee County North Carolina and is free to all attendees.
A fun time was had by all and several clients brought their dogs to enjoy the park and the day of music. It was great to see Harry & Carmen Moore with Cider and Sophie, Suzi Henry with Elke, and Cindy Szaz with Halle and Jolly and I think I may have even spotted Nancy Baker (was that you Nancy?). We look forward to participating again in 2009!
